How long does it take to complete The Leader’s Mindset Masterclass Series?
The Leader’s Mindset Masterclass course content is self-directed, online and completed within six months. The series is made up of 5 masterclasses each with 4 hours of content and requires a minimum of 20 hours of study across the entire series.
We recommend doing the course in a more concentrated tempo and completing it within six to eight weeks focusing on one unit at a time.
If you choose to purchase one masterclass at a time, each individual masterclass has a deadline of 6 months to complete.
Do I have to be a member of the Australian College of Nursing to do the course?
No – the Leader’s Mindset Masterclass Series is open to all nurses in Australia looking to further their career and become a leader in their role.
Scholarships are open to ACN members only. If you wish to apply for a scholarship to complete The Leader’s Mindset Masterclass Series, you are required to be a member. Find out more about being a member here.
Do I have to hold an executive position to do The Leader’s Mindset Masterclass Series?
No – The course is open to all aspiring nurse leaders, and those wanting to take a new step in their career. The course has a foundational course which provides an understanding of leadership and effective communication across all contexts – this allows any nurse, at any stage in their career to identify, establish and develop leadership skills.
We support nurses at all career stages and encourage them to extend their leadership skills and confidence with The Leader’s Mindset Masterclass Series.
Do I need to do all five masterclasses in the series?
No – The Series is the completion of all five masterclasses, however they can be purchased and completed separately. While we recommend you complete the entire series, we understand time restraints can be a challenge. If you choose to purchase the individual masterclasses separately, you will have 6 months to complete each unit.
Is the course graded?
No, the content is provided via an on-demand video and accompanying work booklet. At the end of going through the course, you tick a box to show you have completed the content. There will be no exams.
Will I get CPD hours for completing the Masterclasses?
Yes, if you complete The Leader’s Mindset Masterclass Series you then complete a final survey and are awarded 20 CPD hours. You will also receive a certificate.
If you complete one masterclass you then complete a final survey and are awarded 4 CPD hours. You will also receive a certificate.
Can I sign up to complete further Masterclasses at any time?
Yes, you are welcome to buy one Masterclass at a time. This course is now part of ACN’s offering and will be available when you are.
What shall I do if I can’t complete the Leader’s Mindset Masterclass Series in six months
We know that sometimes life gets in the way of our plans. If you need more time to complete the course, please just email leadership@acn.edu.au to arrange an extension.
